Anyone who visits Peter and Carlo Leenhouts at their showroom on Adrianalaan in Rotterdam-Schiebroek immediately steps into a true Rotterdam family business. At the top of the stairs, large displays feature images of the Erasmus Bridge and other iconic landmarks that reflect the city's character. While Peter Leenhouts has built decades of experience in the world of seamless flooring, his son Carlo only joined the business a few years ago. Interestingly, following in his father's footsteps was never part of the original plan. Their journey eventually led to the foundation of BASE Floor & Wall Finishes, where craftsmanship, quality and personal service are at the heart of everything they do.

In our studio, we scan colours directly from natural organic materials. This allows us to capture the subtle nuances that make nature so unique—from the deep green of a fig leaf to the warm ochre tones that only appear in autumn light.
